5 sessions from Fri 24 Apr 2026 [Show]
Give your child the opportunity to learn, explore, and grow in the natural world.
Our weekly Forest School programme is designed for older children who are ready to build confidence, develop practical skills, and enjoy meaningful experiences outdoors. Set in a woodland environment, sessions combine creativity, hands-on learning, and exploration, helping children develop independence while staying connected to nature.
Children will take part in a range of engaging activities including woodwork projects, nature-based crafts, fire skills, and collaborative challenges. Whether they’re designing and creating with natural materials, learning to safely use tools, or cooking together over a fire, each session offers purposeful, memorable experiences.
Why Forest School?
Forest School provides something many children are missing; time, space, and freedom to learn through doing.
Builds confidence and independence
Develops practical and creative skills
Encourages resilience and problem-solving
Supports well-being and connection with nature
Nurtures curiosity and imagination
These are skills that support children far beyond the woodland.
What to Expect
Each session is carefully planned but flexible, allowing children’s interests to shape the experience. Activities may include:
Woodwork and simple construction projects
Campfire cooking and shared outdoor meals
Nature crafts and seasonal activities
Teamwork challenges and group games
Time for reflection, discussion, and exploration
Children are supported to try new things, take appropriate risks, and develop confidence at their own pace.
Our Approach
We follow the core Forest School principles, offering regular sessions led by qualified practitioners. The programme is child-centred, encouraging learners to take ownership of their experiences while being supported within a safe and nurturing environment.
We focus on building skills, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging.
All Year, All Weather
Sessions run throughout the year, allowing children to experience the woodland across the seasons.
Please provide your child with a snack or packed lunch. In colder months, we often prepare simple food together over the fire.
Expect muddy clothes and happy, engaged children!
Clothing Requirements
To ensure children can fully take part, appropriate clothing is essential:
Cold weather: Warm layers, hat, gloves, sturdy boots, thick outer layer
Wet weather: Waterproof boots and full waterproofs
Hot weather: Lightweight clothing covering arms and legs, plus a sunhat
Children who are dressed appropriately will be comfortable, safe, and able to enjoy the full experience.
A chance to grow in confidence, creativity, and independence, through the power of nature.
